Sofia Richie is not afraid to take risks when it comes to her hairstyle. (Remember when her stylist cut her hair using kitchen scissors, or that time she added GREEN highlights?!) Needless to say, her most recent style shift is just as unexpected, but still super chic.

Sofia recently stepped out with a new shoulder-length, chocolate brown bob, which is a departure from her typical light locks.

Of course, it is more the color that's a surprise than the cut, as Sofia opted to go shoulder-length earlier this summer with her stylist even telling Allure that it was the right thing to do at the time: "Her hair was feeling a bit dry and we were hanging out, getting ready for a friend's wedding... I think the cut was exactly right for her and is on-trend for summer," Chase Kusero said.

Either way, the look comes just in time for the holidays, and we're pumped to see the new Insta selfies that await us still.
